Yes, I blog. About my life. It’s a little self-absorbed, I know. I don’t pretend otherwise.
Did you notice that the logo for this blog is me talking to myself?
In Don’t Get too Comfortable, David Rakoff writes about his moment of peak self-absorption:
My fasting program warns me to stay vigilant against unhealthy ego investment….what with my days being little more than a narcissistic rumination about my intake and, ahem, output. Between the hours of making the broth and giving myself the enemas, this is one of the most self-obsessed things I have ever done in my life, and I say that as someone who wrote an entire book about myself (p. 198).
He may be self-obsessed, but at least he is funny.
